Stone and Aggregates
Production
MC Group produce a range of materials from our limestone and sandstone quarries, primarily crushed stone and natural stone. We also produce sand and gravel from our sand and gravel pit.
Materials from our Castleisland and Keim Quarries are produced by a sequence of blasting and various stages of crushing and screening to produce the size and specification desired by our customers.
Materials from our Killarney location are excavated, screened and washed to produce sand, gravel and natural stone products.

Product Range
Specified Granular Material
These products have a wide range of required physical and chemical specification requirements depending on the end-use application. The main specifier of these products in Ireland is the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) who set out each materials requirement in their Specification for Road Work Series 500,600 & 800.
Series 500 deals with Drainage and Pipe bedding materials, Series 600 with Earthworks materials and Series 800 with Sub-base materials.

Granular Fill material for use under concrete floors and footpaths is specified under Annex E of S.R. 21, 2016 which lists the physical, chemical and petrographic requirements of the material.

Service
MC Group’s locally sourced stone and aggregates boast strength and durability to ensure they are suitable for the civil engineering environment.
Our stone and aggregates are available in a range of sizes to further ensure they suit your individual needs. We can accommodate any size order, thanks to our efficient manufacturing system and can advise on any technical issues you may have.
All orders are delivered to site by our fleet of 30 Tipper trucks.
Quality
MC Group products are regularly inspected by independent auditors (NSAI) to ensure ongoing processes are in compliance with current industry standards and specifications. These include IS EN 13242 (which includes Annex E materials), IS EN 13043 and IS EN 12620.
